Hi, I'm Ashley Bell!

Hi everyone!

President of the GCU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Society here :)

I'm starting this blog because my moleskin isn't enough to keep tabs on my entrepreneurial activity.

Here's just a few of the events that have happened since Freshers':

  • Revamping the GCU Innovation Society and getting a really good team behind me.
  • Being the SIE Intern (Training, freshers, promoting, workshops, networking events)
  • The Start-up summit
  • TedxGlasgow
  • Making Scotland a more Entrepreneurial Society event (Entrepreneurial Scotland, Scottish Edge and ESpark)
  • And starting  a business, with 3 other students, based on Glasgow events and getting space at UHatch (GCU's entrepreneurial hub).
Ideas Workshop

Heading to the Start Up Summit in Edinburgh #WATF_

Global Entrepenuership week, 'Making Scotland the Most Entrpreneurial Society in the world' at Sloans

And getting myself a new mentor, Raj from the bluetooth tracking device start up, Lupo @mylupo

GUTS (Glasgow University Tech Society) invited us along to the LUPO hack earlier this 2015, where programmers could come up with specific functions for the 'advanced lupo' that had lights, vibration and beeping alert, which isn't released yet! But for the moment, keeping track of my keys will be less of a worry - so long as it's within 150m!

So in this blog, I will be commenting on my own experiences, as a student and wanna-be entrepreneur.

Since starting back on the course (4th Year BA (Hons) Management, Technology and Enterprise), I've met a number of people coming up with or running exciting businesses in Scotland. The network that exists out there have been incredibly supportive and the enthusiasm for the students I represent has been a real buzz to be around people who are interesting in talk the whole process for starting business.

And finally GCU IES has birthed some student entrepreneurs in the making...

Until I have free time again - to update you on EVERYTHING relatively entrepreneurial I have done from a student perspective, sayonnara and ciao for now!

-A
